And demanding luxury jets...
The good-government group Judicial Watch has released a batch of unflattering e-mails, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, that show staffers for Nancy Pelosi kvetching about access to official aircraft.Enough. Negligence and inconsiderate behavior that costs our Military money? She's done. Out Out Out.
The group, which has investigated politicians from both parties in recent years, isn’t alleging illegality — just petulance.
Pelosi’s office is pushing back, saying the type of plane she uses is dictated by the demands of a transcontinental flight — and the House sergeant-at-arms’ security concerns associated with refueling a smaller plane.
In one e-mail, an aide wrote: “It is my understanding there are no G5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable. ... The speaker will want to know where the planes are.”In another, the aide, having been told that a certain type of aircraft wasn’t available, shot back: “This is not good news, and we will have some very disappointed folks, as well as a very upset speaker.”
The report also alleges that Pelosi and her staff frequently made demands on Air Force personnel and often canceled on short notice, costing the military an unspecified amount.
