Obama is, according to Marisa Guthrie, "a Historically transformative figure."
I'm sorry, yes he's the first black president. But what has he DONE to transform the path of history?
Can we wait a little until he's actually sworn in?

I agree with you... and I disagree with you. I think today, for some, he is already that figure. I think sometimes we under estimate the emotion, importance, and power of his election to the black community. For them, he is already "historically tranformative".
For the rest of us, who do appreciate the importance, we are still waiting for what he actually does before we see what impact it will have on our lives. For them, he already had an impact.
It all depends on your perspective.
