Obama seemed to be playing "catch up."
He was on the defensive from the get-go. McCain laid out the facts, and Obama tried to shuffle his papers and twist the truth to jab back.
I have to admit, McCain just told it like it was with a quick "Look, friends" and there it was-
nicely done.
Obama lost me a few times, rambling. Guess he's just not as good without his telepromtper and with too many "uhs."

This isn't just you, but I've come to see that there's very little worth in most commentaries on the debate. You said Obama lost you a couple of times rambling, but you were never willing to listen.
I don't believe you watched the debate with the intention of "i'm going to see who does better at the debate and then report my opinion on the blog." Instead, because as a die-hard stalwart of the republican party, there's too much at stake for you to already have the ready-made thesis that McCain was not only a better candidate but the winner of the debate and you watched the debate with the objective of "what can I pull out of mccain's responses to help support the notion that he's the better candidate" so that i can convince anyone who's reading my blog that he's so great.
i believe that before the debate even began, we could have forecased a 0% chance that an entry praising Obama's skills as a speaker or debater would have appeared on this blog after the debate
Actually, I was listening. To the whole thing. OF COURSE I didn't watch the debate with the mindset you describe. I did watch it though thinking Obama would clean McCain's clock, and I was pleasantly surprised.
No one reading my blog is going to vote for McCain off of this posting, and if they do, they're an idiot.
I'm voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
There. Now everyone should vote the same way too.
