Smooth, pundits, smooth

Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy got caught bashing Palin as the pick.

Rude and tactless. I hope it bites them in the ass.

While I didn't listen to the audio because I was at work, what was quoted didn't seem all that rude, apart from saying the word bullsh*t.

They questioned whether she is the most qualified person. That's a valid question.

They said they chose her not because of a narrative, and not because of any particular accomplishments. Its a valid point, though certainly debatable... but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to debate it.

They viewed it as cynical and gimicky... and given the vast amount of attention on Palin vs. comparative attention to McCain, they very well may have a point.

These are all valid points. You may not LIKE them... but that doesn't automatically make them rude, nor tasteless.

Well said, Nick. Further, it isn't "fair and balanced" to fail to acknowledge Peggy Noonan's response to the live mic incident. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and a Republican is not required to accept her Party's VP pick without asking some questions. Whether you agree with her or not, she makes some valid points, despite the unfortunate way they were revealed to the public. Nonetheless, she apologizes for her "vulgar epithet" and accepts responsibility for the blunder.
