Tiger Woods, a politician?

I'd vote for him.
Here he is: Tiger Woods … future politician? Hey, he's already among the world's
most recognizable figures. Now he practically holds the key to the nation's capital by bringing professional golf to an area that was devoid of any tournaments when the tour's schedule was first announced.

It's no secret that Congressional's first club president also happened to be a U.S.
president, as Herbert Hoover resided in that capacity and fellow commanders in
chief William Howard Taft, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Woodrow Wilson acted as founding life members.

Tiger is as distinguished as Barack Obama, as eloquent as Hillary Clinton, as esteemed as Rudy Giuliani. He might straddle the fence on most current issues (then again, what politician doesn't?), but he knows a good cause when he sees one, offering complimentary tickets to men and women serving in the military, as well as a variety of other ways of giving back to the troops throughout the week.

"Even though my dad was retired, I basically grew up on a military base," he says.
"And just understanding the commitment that it takes each and every day for the
servicemen and women, what they do for us, I just think that it was something
that would have been and should be honored, and that's why we're doing it. What
they are doing right now for us, and for us back home, it's just a way to say thank you."
We can always do what we've done with the current panel of candidates and worry about his politics later.

There are a couple of problems with Tiger Woods as a politician. The first is that he is a cry baby. How could we ever have a leader who can not handle anything less than pure success. Sure, he is maybe the world's best golfer, but we certainly can not expect, and neither could, that he would suddenly be the world's best politician. And what precedent has he revealed when he does not perform "perfectly?" He cries like a little baby.
The second, and perhaps most important aspect is that Tiger, like many delusional people in this country, considers golf to be a sport. A sport! Seriously, there are thousands, if not millions of crazy people that think following a ball around a course with some sticks, and smacking them is an athletic sport! HA! A hobby? Sure. A hobby that requires coordination? No doubt. But so does building ships inside bottles. So while it is a great idea, I think you ought to join my campaign to have Tom Brokaw run for President. Here is a fellow that is well liked, and incredibly well versed on the subjects. Hell, he has met more foreign leaders than our current President, and is much more respected than our current one too!
And for second chair, or "vice presidency" as they call it.. Wonder Woman. Now seriously, here is a candidate we can no longer deny. After all, she flies an invisible jet! Who else, besides maybe Dick Cheney, can do that?!

To respond:
1. No one ever said "world's best politician." I know of no one who could possibly wear that title.
2. Showing emotion happens to be a quality I admire in men running for office. Crying like a baby? I think that's a little harsh. Haven't you ever poured yourself into something to be disappointed? Or are you a man without a heart?
3. Golf is most certainly a SPORT! YOU try spending all day exerting yourself, finding balance between using your own strength and the club, finesse and concentration. It may not be a team sport, but neither are track and field events, swimming, tennis - those are all individual sports (minus a relay). BUT, they do require concentration, strength, practice, focus, physical activity and exertion, etc. I'll stop before saying again that GOLF is a SPORT. Ships in bottles? please. I'd challenge you to round anyday.
4. How does meeting foreign leaders have anything to do with being a successful elected official? I've met a few 5-star chefs, does that make me ready to challenge Emeril to a cook-off?
5. I'm with you on Wonder Woman.
